We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using the Site or providing us with your information, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. What personal information we collect
The personal information we collect may include: your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number; details of the products, samples or quotes you request; records of your orders, enquiries and communications with us; and, where you create an account, your login details. We do not store full payment card details – card payments are processed securely by our third-party payment providers.
We also automatically collect non-identifying technical information when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, screen resolution, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This information is collected using cookies and analytics tools (see section 6).
2. How we collect your information
We collect personal information directly from you – for example when you place an order, request a quote or sample, create an account, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, or visit our showroom. We may also collect information through cookies and analytics when you use the Site. Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym; however, in most cases we will need your details in order to supply products or respond to your enquiry.
3. Why we collect, hold and use your information
We collect, hold and use your personal information to: process and fulfil your orders and quote requests; arrange delivery; provide customer service and respond to your enquiries; manage your account; process payments and refunds; send you marketing and promotional material where you have not opted out (see section 7); improve the Site and our products and services; and meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
4. Disclosure of your information
We may disclose your personal information to third parties who help us operate our business and provide our services, including: payment processors, delivery and freight partners, IT and website hosting providers, email and marketing platforms, and analytics providers such as Google. These parties are only given the information they need to perform their function and are required to protect it.
We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose your information where required or authorised by law, or in connection with the sale or transfer of our business, in which case your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our third-party service providers (for example analytics and cloud/email providers such as Google) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small data files stored on your device by your web browser. We use cookies and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, to remember your preferences and to improve your experience. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can change your browser settings to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable cookies, some features of the Site may not work properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
7. Direct marketing and opt-out
We may send you marketing communications about our products, offers and news where you have provided your details or consented to receive them. You can opt out at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, or by contacting us using the details below. We will action your request as soon as practicable.
8. Security of your information
We take reasonable technical, physical and administrative steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including the use of encryption for payment transactions. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Site.
9. Retention of your information
We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for giving access in some circumstances.
