Select Australian Timber in Blackbutt is australian hardwood flooring in engineered form — a 3mm layer of real blackbutt over a three-layer Hevea core, which is why the floor keeps the species’ clean, straight character rather than approximating it. The tone is a light brown that moves between pale wheat and warm golden straw, with the tight, even grain blackbutt is prized for, sealed under a water-based UV lacquer in semi-gloss or matte.

Pale hardwood makes living areas and bedrooms feel brighter and more open, and blackbutt is the safe bet for a coastal or contemporary Australian interior where you want timber warmth without weight. Boards run 14.2mm at 1820×135mm or 1820×180mm and float on the Välinge 5G click; note this range is not suitable over underfloor heating. Available to view at Belantti’s Adelaide showroom.
