Description

Fiddleback Australian Hardwood in Blackbutt is blackbutt herringbone flooring that puts a genuinely local species into a classic European pattern — the pale golden-brown of Australian Blackbutt, with its straight, even grain and occasional gum vein, laid as 430×86mm parquetry blocks over a stable multi-ply plywood core. The matte PU finish and micro-bevelled edges let each block read individually, so the zig-zag geometry stays crisp rather than dissolving into a single field of timber. Blackbutt’s 9.1kN Janka rating gives the pattern real durability underfoot.

Herringbone rewards rooms where it can be seen at scale — entryways, formal living and dining rooms, and open-plan spaces that want pattern without colour weight. The warm brown tone works with white and off-white walls, brass, natural stone and both heritage and contemporary joinery, and the same range is also offered as standard plank and rustic boards if you want to change register between zones. Available to view at Belantti’s Adelaide showroom.
