Village Oak – River Stone

Village Oak by Preference Floors in River Stone is mineral grey oak flooring with a distinctly mineral cast — European Oak pulled towards the flat, water-worn grey of stones lifted from a creek bed, with just enough taupe left in the grain to keep it from reading as concrete. Light brushing opens the surface so the colour settles unevenly and the board looks worked rather than coated, and the matte finish keeps it quiet. Boards come 1900×190mm wide or 2200×220mm extra-wide, 14mm total over a 3mm oak wear layer.

This is the grey to reach for when a scheme is already busy: it will carry patterned tile, strong joinery colour or textured stone in open-plan living, dining and hallways without adding another voice. It suits contemporary and minimalist interiors and sits well with off-white walls, honed stone, black steel and pale timber furniture.
