Village Oak – Cloud Break

Village Oak by Preference Floors in Cloud Break is white plank engineered timber flooring with a limed, overcast softness — European Oak washed so pale that the grain shows only as fine shadow lines beneath a milky white surface, like light breaking through cloud. The light brushing is what saves it from flatness, holding the wash slightly deeper in the open grain so the board keeps its texture. A matte coating finishes it. Boards run 1900×190mm wide or 2200×220mm extra-wide, 14mm total over a 3mm oak wear layer.

White-washed timber is the shortcut to a bright, airy room, and it earns its place in open-plan living, bedrooms and hallways where natural light is limited. It is at its best in coastal and Scandinavian interiors — white walls, pale linen, rattan, honed marble — and it makes joinery and furniture read as the strongest element in the room.
