Select Australian Timber – Spotted Gum

Select Australian Timber in Spotted Gum is genuine hardwood brown timber flooring — a 3mm spotted gum wear layer over a three-layer Hevea core, so the surface you walk on is the real species with all its colour movement. Expect the full spotted gum range from warm chestnut through deep umber, marked by the fine gum vein and occasional darker figure that no printed décor reproduces convincingly. A water-based UV lacquer, available semi-gloss or matte, seals it without hiding the grain.

At 14.2mm on 1820×135mm or 1820×180mm boards it suits living areas, bedrooms and hallways, and reads at home in Australian classic interiors as readily as in a warm contemporary build. The Välinge 5G click means it floats rather than needing adhesive, and a 3mm wear layer leaves room for resanding later in its life. One of the ranges Adelaide renovators ask us about most.
