Fiddleback Australian Hardwood – Rustic Spotted Gum
Rustic Spotted Gum shows Fiddleback Spotted Gum at its most expressive engineered Australian hardwood over a plywood core, matte PU, with an 11kN Janka rating.
Description
Fiddleback Australian Hardwood by Preference Floors in Rustic Spotted Gum is the boldest read in the range — Fiddleback Spotted Gum selected for character rather than uniformity, so the boards carry the timber’s full theatre: chocolate and russet banding, tight interlocked grain, gum vein and knot. It is engineered, with the hardwood face over a multi-ply plywood core, offered as 12mm with a 0.6mm veneer or 14mm with a 3mm wear layer, and finished in matte PU over a micro-bevel. Spotted gum is genuinely hard — 11kN on the Janka scale.
Rustic grade is made for rooms that want warmth and story: open-plan living, family rooms, hallways and studies, in country, coastal and warm contemporary interiors, alongside cream plaster, black steel, leather and stone. Boards run 1860×136mm or 1860×189mm, with 430×86mm herringbone available if you want to change the geometry. As Fiddleback Australian Hardwood it is not suitable for underfloor heating, and it is manufactured to a <E1 VOC standard. On display now at our Dry Creek showroom, Adelaide.
