De Marque Oak – Chateau Grey (Herringbone)
De Marque Oak – Chateau Grey (Herringbone) grey herringbone oak flooring sets deep smoky grey European Oak into 600 120mm parquetry blocks under a light-brushed matte European PU.
Description
De Marque Oak – Chateau Grey (Herringbone) grey herringbone oak flooring is the darkest and most theatrical of the range’s grey parquetry, laid in 600×120mm blocks that interlock at right angles. Chateau Grey reads deep and smoky — charcoal drawn through with grey-brown, closer to weathered slate than to driftwood — and against that depth the medullary rays and knots of the European Oak stand out clearly. A light brushing opens the grain and the matte European PU finish keeps the surface dry and shadowed rather than reflective. Available as 15mm with a 4mm wear layer or 21mm with a 6mm wear layer.
Dark herringbone is a statement floor, and it earns that in formal living areas, entries, dining rooms and hallways where the pattern can run properly. It is at its best in dramatic, European-influenced and modern classic interiors, set against pale plaster walls, marble, velvet and antique brass. Parquetry is direct-fix adhesive only, and compatible with in-slab hydronic heating. A favourite among Adelaide builders and designers.
